I realize it's been awhile +queues in Brit's Break The Ice+ since I talked fashion, so here's an update of what has caught my eye!

Marc Jacobs O.O.C. Glitter Studs Mini: This totally reminds me of "Jem & The Holograms"!

Remember Jem?? Sangat ala ala 80's gitu. I love the fuchsia hue. Ugh, I just have this thing for fuchsia, I don't know why. The metallic effect is pure partyyy. This retails for $995.

Tod’s Helmet Zip Media bag: Once again I love love love the hue, its not fuchsia but purple. Damn Gwyneth for being Tod's spokesmodel! I don't think her outfit matches the bag, here she is wearing something comfortable sloppy-ish but I think the bag would suit a more sophisticated outfit or perhaps semi casual.

Dolce and Gabbana Miss New Easy Way: Hmm, I don't usually like this type of handbags but I'm strangely drawn to it's smart & sturdy look. I love how structured and neat it is, and the sensible dark brown color seems to fit its personality well. Though I don't like brown, but this hue seems to suite it. The moment I saw it I can just imagine it would be perfect to tote it to the office with a sensible attire. Preferable the high-waisted, white shirt & a scarf look. Or a pantsuit. It's a pretty simple purse but the studs & logo plate add a little kick.

Mischa Barton's look: I like this whole ensemble, but the shoes...not so much. She's paired her ultra-glam Lady Dior handbag with a monochromatic Sienna-Miller-meets-A-Clockwork-Orange ensemble. It’s a little overstyled, but I like the bowler.

There are two new shows that recently started, and I'm gonna try to follow them religiously. Both plotlines seem interesting enough. But I'm watching because of ________. Hint: Title of this post. LOL.

The first is 'Cinta Untuk Ain', starring Nabila Huda & Que Haidar. I adore Nabila Huda. If there's any movies/dramas, I'll watch it cause of her. Hahahah!

She has such pretty skin! And I like her voice, bod and fashion sense too. Too bad her husband is fugly :(

The second one is 'Rempit vs Impak Maksima'. It's a mixture of the movie 'Remp-It' & 'Impak Maksima'. This drama also stars that chick & dude from KAMI, Zeyna Ibrahim who played Adii (the cool girl, not the annoying whiny one) and Nas-T who played Abu. Oh, and Dina of Malaysian Idol makes her acting debut in this drama too.

Cat Diary Entry:

Day 983 of my captivity.

My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects.

They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape.

In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. Bastards!

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage.

Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow --but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches.

The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously stupid.

The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now . . .

Driving Exam Gone Bad

I was browsing through blogs when I came upon Siewjin's old post on his driving test. This is some funny shit!

Driving Exam Gone Bad

Everyone remembers the pain they had to go through to get their driving license. From re-taking their driving exam for the 5th damn time to finally giving up and handing the examiner a RM50 note on their 6th try (promising them that you'll be driving an automatic for the rest of your life).

In case you're wondering, I was one of the few lucky ones who passed on his first driving exam. But it was no cakewalk for me.. AT ALL! I mean I did easily breeze through the 3 toughest tests; J-turn, Parallel Parking and of course the Slopes. No surprise because my driving instructor spent 90% of the time tutoring me on them. All that's left now was the on-road test.

Now see, the thing about passing the on-road exam was that you cannot make more than 4 out 20 driving mistakes (failing to signal, speeding, didn't buckle seatbelt, etc.) Most people pass without making a single mistake and even for those who were still a little drunk from last night's party, they'd at most make 1 mistake. It's understandable because we've all been observing how our parents handle the wheels for 17 years from the backseat. Everything should come naturally to us in this part of the exam.

So I am still curious as to how is it that I was able to strike out on all 4 times during my on-road test:

Examiner: Give a right signal.
Ben: Ok [Wiper goes up, wiper goes down]
(Strike 1)

Examiner: Traffic light is green. Move.
Ben: [Enjin Mati]
(Strike 2)

Ben: Finally, we're done!
Examiner: Good for you. Now unbuckle your seatbelt and let the next driver in.
Ben: [Face goes pale]
Examiner: Oh right, YOU FORGOT TO BUCKLE YOUR SEATBELT THE WHOLE TIME.
(Strike 3)

Examiner: Despite all the mistakes you made today, I am still going to give you a chance. Here's my examination pad. I'm going to hand it over to you and you are going to tell me how badly you want to pass this exam.
Ben: But I don't have a pen.
Examiner: So, tell me in another 'way'.
Ben: Er.. [Reaches for the wallet]
Examiner: Good.. good..
Ben: [Pulls out a photo] This is a picture of my girlfriend. As you can see, she is drop-dead gorgeous and I would like nothing more than to hump her. Problem is, she said she'll only have sex with me if I had my own ride. That is how badly I want to pass the exam.

Two German children, six and seven, elope for Africa

BERLIN (AFP) – Two childhood sweethearts, aged six and seven, eloped from Hanover in northern Germany on New Year's Eve, determined to tie the knot under the African sun, police said Monday.

The pair identified as Mika and Anna-Lena "are very much in love and decided to get married in Africa where it is warm, taking with them as a witness Anna-Lena's little sister, aged five," police spokesman Holger Jureczko told AFP.

The idea for the romantic trip began when Mika told the two girls about his recent holiday in Italy, while their families celebrated New Year's Eve together. "From this, the children began to make plans for the future," Jureczko said.

As the first dawn of 2009 broke, the trio started to put these plans into action, packing all the essentials for the journey, including "sunglasses, swimming trunks, a lilo, summer clothes and provisions."

While their parents slept, they left their house in the suburbs of Hanover, walked a kilometre (two-thirds of a mile) up the road to a tram stop from where they took a tram for the central station.

Waiting for a train to the airport, they aroused the attention of a guard who contacted police.

Two officers managed to convince the young lovers that they would struggle to get to Africa without money or a plane ticket.

As a consolation, the children were given a special tour of the police headquarters at Hanover station where they were especially taken with the detention cells.

Their relieved parents picked them up from the station, the spokesman said, adding: "They can still put their plan into action at a later date."

A gay father whose son was “snatched” away by his lesbian mother during family court proceedings was finally able to appeal publicly for his safe return yesterday after restrictions on identifying the parties was lifted.

Michael Turberville has not seen Ashley Skinner, 7, since the boy’s mother, Joanne, vanished with him during contested court proceedings more than a year ago. He believes that his son may now be in Australia.
Sir Mark Potter, the President of the High Court Family Division, lifted the reporting restrictions usually attached to disputes over children in the hope that the publicity would help Turberville to trace his son.
Sir Mark said: “This mother’s behaviour is to be deplored. She has gone to extreme lengths to go to ground with Ashley.”

Turberville, 41, from Reading, became a father after he appealed for a woman to have a child via an advertisement in the gay publication Pink Paper. He received 50 replies and chose Skinner, from Islington, North London. At the time both were in same-sex relationships. They tried home insemination nine times before succeeding.

Turberville was allowed to see Ashley an hour after he was born. He could not understand why Skinner refused to put his name on the birth certificate but was happy with the access that she granted him up until Ashley was 3.

“I saw him every other weekend, or when she needed me to babysit,” he said. “I would visit him and we would do things as a family, go to the museums, the park. He called me Daddy.”

He last saw his son to celebrate his third birthday. Soon after that, he said: “Joanne and I were talking and she suddenly said, ‘I don’t know what you are concerned about, you have no say in the matter’.”

Skinner who was splitting up from her partner, then asked for a six-month break in contact. Turberville said that he sent cards and presents and attempted to renew his relationship with his son, but when all failed he mounted a legal action.

Skinner responded by making criminal allegations against Turberville — unconnected with Ashley — of which he was acquitted by a jury and exonerated by the family court in September last year.
Asked why he had accepted Skinner’s offer to bear his child without established access rights, Turberville said, “Things were different ten years ago and I had to take what I was given.”

Poor boy. Either he's going to grow up being really open-minded or maybe just a little screwed up. Seems like too much confusion for a little boy at that age with a gay father & a lesbian mother. And the parents aren't even close friends or anything.

High Heels: Barbie may be turning 50 next year, but she isn't quite ready to trade in her fancy footwear for orthopedic shoes.

Christian Louboutin is designing pumps in iconic Barbie Pantone 219 Pink, which will make their debut at the special runway show that Mattel Inc. is staging during New York fashion week next February.

Fifty as-yet-undisclosed designers will produce Barbie-inspired outfits for the runway, and each of the 50 models will be wearing the pink Louboutins at the show.

"I guess I always had a little 'girlie side' who liked Barbie," Louboutin said. "Barbie needs to wear great

Britney's Album Launch Party in One Utama!

Yes! I went for the launch! *squeals*

It wasn't as spectacular as I hoped it would be but a Britney event is more than enough to hype me up!

Apparently they only sold Circus here & other music stores will only be selling it on the 3rd onwards. So yes, Zaza & I were the first few to have it in our hands before anyone else! Be jealous,bitches ;) I got myself both the normal & deluxe editions, well cause I have too. It's crazy NOT to.

Well, it's pretty crappy that Halloween isn't that all popular in Malaysia. It's been catching up over the years but still not really popular.

Which sucks! Cause its so much fun! Bummer.

I guess we'll have to settle with munching on tons of candies & having a scary movie marathon (no, not that lame ass "Scary Movie" movies, REAL scary movies).

Here's a bit of an interesting read about the origins of the Jack O'Lantern:

The tradition of pumpkin carving derives from the Celtic myth of Stingy Jack. To condense the story, Stingy Jack tricked the Devil twice. I’m here to tell you what you already know: they’re ugly. Fugly, even. No, really.

I’m convinced the leather and craftsmanship are top-notch, but the styling in no way befits the legacy of the man who shod the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, Rita Hayworth, etc.

Britney Spears 'Sets The Record Straight' In Documentary Airing November 30 On MTV

In the special, Britney reflects on hardships of the past few years: 'What the hell was I thinking?'

Possibly more than anyone on Earth, Britney Spears' life is constantly documented by the media, which voraciously reports on the singer's every step and misstep. But what's it like to be in her shoes?

With her new album, Circus, set for release in just a few weeks, the singer is ready to show the world her side of the story.

Britney has joined forces with MTV for a 90-minute documentary about her return to the pop-music spotlight. Tentatively titled "For the Record," the special is set to air on November 30 at 10 p.m. on MTV, two days before Circus is released on December 2 (the singer's 27th birthday).

"So much has gone on over the last couple of years and there's a lot that people don't know about me that I want them to know," Spears told MTV News in a statement about the special. "I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn't being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in. This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I've been through and where I'm headed."

The documentary combines personal stories with behind-the-scenes footage of her comeback. Cameras follow her to the recording studio, to rehearsals, to press tours, to the video shoot for her latest single, "Womanizer," and even to her hometown in Louisiana. Backstage footage from her recent triumphant appearance at the Video Music Awards is also featured.

Through it all, we hear Britney talking about the hardships that led up to this comeback. "I've been through a lot, and there's a lot people don't know," she says in the film. "Sometimes it can get lonely 'cause you don't open the gate. I'm stuck in this place, and I just cope every day."

Britney also owns up to the mistakes the world has watched her make, and offers some telling insight into how she feels about it all now. "I sit there and I look back," she says, before asking rhetorically: "I'm a smart person, what the hell was I thinking?"

"For the Record" airs Sunday, November 30 at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.

Hell, I was up waiting for it on Monday. There were many rumours which radio station was gonna play it first. All fans were going crazy. First a New Zealand radio station said they were gonna play it, then Australian radio, then UK's Radio 1 & finally KISS FM. And I listened to all those on Monday only to be dissapointed because the release was delayed! It was scheduled to be released on Monday but JIVE delayed it for some final mixing. Damn, I got all excited for nothing and I had MORE waiting to do. But never mind. Patience for Britney is nothing. She is a Goddess after all.

Ok, so I usually don't blog about politics but this is just....well I had to post it. Perez Hilton actually blogged about this on his site! Bringing the Malaysian name & crapping on it.

A controversial Malaysian blogger named Raja Petra Kamaruddin has been detained for criticizing the Malaysian government and 'insulting' Islam.

And, as if that weren't troubling enough, the blogger is going to be locked up - without a trial - for TWO YEARS!

His wife told the media, "(Police) said my husband has been sent to Kamunting this morning and that he will remain there for two years with no trial. This is the worst news I can receive but we will keep fighting for his release."

The blogger's attorney said the government had pulled a "mean, dirty trick" by issuing the detention order the night before a scheduled court hearing on Tuesday to secure his release. "The government can now hide behind a veil of secrecy because they do not have to disclose reasons for detaining him."

The term loner is usually used with a negative connotation in the belief that humans are social creatures and those that do not participate are different. A typical Chanel handbag you say?

Well, helllooooo, it’s called an icon! Mention the label Chanel and the first thing that comes to mind is the word “classic“. History was made when Coco Chanel introduced this bag in February 1955 (as in, 2.55). Coco wanted a shoulder bag to free up her hands. Hey, she had other things to carry. The quilts were inspired by jackets worn by jockeys (yes, jockeys).

Here's a brief history of the icon that is the 2.55.

The 2.55 handbag bears that particular name simply because it was originally issued in February 1955. Her features have all a piece of tale to tell. From the inside out:

• The lining - The lining’s brown color represents the color of the uniforms from the convent where she grew up.

• The inside compartment - there’s a zippered compartment at the inside of the front flap. That’s where Coco Chanel hid her love letters (from her lover at the time).

• The backside - there’s a back outside flap on the handbag – that’s where Ms Chanel stashed extra money.

• The shoulder strap – as I said before, Coco Chanel grew up in an convent, at the orphanage. The caretakers hold the keys at their waist dangling from the same type of chains as the 2.55 shoulder strap chains.

• The front lock – the 2.55 front lock is different from the classic double CC logo. It’s logo is called “the Mademoiselle Lock” (because Ms Chanel was never married).

Karl Lagerfeld who took over Chanel in 1983 reissued the 2.55 in February 2005. His version is the exactly the one designed by Coco Chanel back in 1955.

The Reissue was made in commemoration to the 50th anniversary of the original 2.55 and the name “Reissue 2.55” should apply only to those commemorative handbags.
Instead, it’s commonly used now as a name for all the handbags resembling the original 2.55. As for those with CC interlocking, they’re called Classic Flaps.

One handbag that is hated by a lot of bagista’s but seen on celebrities is the See by Chloé ‘Daytripper’ Satchel. This handbag has been seen on numerous celebrities including Jessica Alba and Miley Cyrus. Miley Cyrus has been seen everywhere she goes with her blue See by Chloé ‘Daytripper’ Satchel. Gossip blogs and celebrity Web sites lit up Friday (September 19) when a 37-second, static-filled snippet of the first single from Britney Spears' upcoming album, Circus, was briefly posted on a radio station's Web site before being removed.

The snippet of disco-inflected track, called "Womanizer," was briefly posted on the Web site of Nashville radio station 107.5-FM The River before being taken down, although at press time the clip could still be found elsewhere online.

Based on the brief snippet, the Outsyders-produced song is a bouncy dance track with a sing-song chorus that frequently repeats the title; Britney coos about a possible lover who has a reputation of being a womanizer.

According to Britney's label, the station obtained the snippet by recording a phone call in which a radio rep played a rough mix of the song for people at the station — which seems likely, judging by the horrendous sound quality of the clip. At the label's request, the station removed the clip from its Web site.

Fans won't have to wait long for the song's official release, which takes place on Monday. The album follows on December 2, Britney's birthday.

Along with the Outsyders, collaborators on the album include Keri Hilson, Sean Garrett, Rodney Jerkins, Lil Jon, Nate "Danjahandz" Hills (who helmed "Gimme More") and Dr. Luke (who wrote and produced the album's title track), Guy Sigsworth, Bloodshy & Avant (who produced past hits "Toxic" and the big VMA winner "Piece of Me") and Max Martin (who wrote "... Baby One More Time" and "Oops! ... I Did It Again").
